Beginning or continuing therapy can feel scary or daunting- it's brave to embark on such a deeply personal adventure. I believe that you are ultimately the expert on yourself, and my role as therapist is to facilitate awareness and skills that allow your authentic Core Self to guide you. As a mindfulness-based relational therapist with an integrative approach rooted in Trauma Model Therapy (Dr. Colin Ross), I primarily use techniques from Interpersonal Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). To be "integrative" means that I do not believe any single treatment approach meets the needs of all persons at all times, so I intentionally and skillfully draw from several evidenced-based modalities to best meet your needs.

Based upon your specific needs, our collaboration may include: addressing problematic core beliefs; practicing grounding techniques; clarifying values; exploring how past experiences and trauma may be influencing current struggles; resolving internal conflicts; developing visualization and mindfulness skills; addressing challenging attachment-styles; and adjusting unhelpful cognitions, narratives or meaning-associations keeping you stuck. Further, we may illuminate and enhance the strengths that you already possess! With a warm and confident style, I also utilize the therapeutic relationship itself to promote connectedness in the moment as this provides a rich opportunity for you to receive immediate support in practicing skills for managing difficult emotions and addressing interpersonal challenges. I especially enjoy weaving metaphors and creative expression into our work to help elicit thoughts, emotions, and meanings that may be difficult to access and express verbally to to early development trauma.
